HS2 Summer Program- Algebra II Teacher

February 18, 2020 - May 1, 2020

Each summer, the (HS)² Program at Colorado Rocky Mountain School hires teachers to lead courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and English. In addition to teaching responsibilities in the classroom, teachers are also asked to support students in Study Hall three nights per week. Additionally, some teachers serve as mentors to a Teaching Assistant. (HS)² teachers do not have any dormitory duties during the summer, however, they are asked to chaperone students on one off-campus trip and one on-campus social event. (HS)2 teachers are hired to teach one or two courses which meet for 110 minutes each per day, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications: Strong teaching candidates have significant teaching experience, a mastery of one of the (HS)² subjects, and genuinely enjoy working with high school students. Salary is commensurate with teaching experience.

2020 Dates: New faculty and TAs will arrive on campus Wednesday, June 17, and returning faculty will arrive on campus no later than Thursday, June 18. All faculty will depart July 25-26. (HS)² third-year students will arrive on campus Saturday, June 20 for a leadership seminar, and first and second-year students will arrive on Monday, June 22. All students depart campus on Saturday, July 25.

Application Procedures:
Before completing the application, please read through the (HS)² website Completed applications are reviewed and candidates are chosen until staffing is complete, although preference is given to applications received before March 1, 2020. The review of candidates will be ongoing and will take place when the completed Teacher application, resume, and cover letter are received.

Interviews and Hiring:
After your application has been received, you will be contacted via email to inform you of your applicant status, and if appropriate, to set up an interview. Interviews will likely be conducted over the phone or via Skype. When deciding to accept an offer of a position, applicants should remember that, although the (HS)² summer session is only five weeks, it is an intense, rigorous, and challenging program for both students and faculty.
