Human Resources Manager
Full-time, salaried position
Aspen Country Day School seeks a human resources specialist to create the best possible experience for Aspen Country Day School employees. This person sets the stage for employees to fulfill the mission of the school in a workplace that exemplifies the school’s core values of character, respect, responsibility, community, and perseverance. He/she reports to the Business Manager.
Primary responsibilities include:

Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in the hiring process, including working with Division Heads and Leadership Team on job descriptions and postings, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.

Benefits Administration: Develop, source, and administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and communication. Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries. Develop and manage programs such as life, health, dental/vision, and short/long term disability insurances; retirement plans; personal leave, professional leave, vacation, FMLA; and Workers Compensation. Assist with management of the school’s employee housing program.

Payroll: Set up salaries and payroll deductions in the payroll system for the Business Manager to review. Set up all leave in the payroll system at the beginning of the school year. Maintain leave in the payroll system. Provide the year-end report to each employee on leave balances. Manage paperwork for subs and temps.

Business systems: Use various platforms to ensure that HR data is being used accurately and efficiently. Where necessary, collaborate to evaluate and implement improvements in technology solutions.

Employee Communications: Support internal communications related to HR policies, procedures, and announcements. Assist in organizing and coordinating employee events and programs. Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews. Check out faculty at year end.

Employee Relations: Address employee relations issues and provide guidance on conflict resolution. Monitor and maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and engagement.

Employee Records and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and documentation. Generate reports as needed for HR metrics and analysis.

Compliance: Establish HR policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance and best practices. Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations, and update policies accordingly. Coordinate training for those interviewing, hiring, handling terminations, promotions, safety, and sexual harassment.

The wage rate for this position will include a salary in the range of $60,000-$80,000; health, dental, disability insurance, retirement plan benefits, school-year lunch, with tuition remission and housing support available.
