CA seeks a dynamic and passionate, computer science teacher to join an innovative department as a full-time member effective August 2021. The Upper School CS Department offers a diverse and exciting range of courses including introductory programming, robotics, AP Computer Science Principals, AP Computer Science A, data science, data structures and algorithmic art. A full-time position consists of four sections of teaching and an advisory.
The Upper School program combines a strong college preparatory academic curriculum with extensive and challenging programs in athletics, community service, and fine arts. Students graduating from the Upper School apply to and are accepted at selective colleges throughout the United States. Small classes, high standards, plenty of extra help, and an abiding belief that the most successful learners are the most active and involved learners, make the Upper School years the best kind of capstone to a student’s pre-collegiate education. Learning is not confined to the classroom: we have an experiential-interim program, student generated club activities, and a community service program. Learning opportunities abound, shared with friends and committed teachers.
A successful candidate will:
- have a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in a computer science, engineering, math or technology-related field; advanced degree preferred.
- have at least three years of experience teaching computer science in an educational environment.
- show a demonstrated aptitude and inclination to learn new and complex technology and will pursue professional development opportunities on an ongoing basis.
- experience or ability to teach AP level (CSP or A) computer science courses.
- maintain a current knowledge of emerging technologies in computer science, and best pedagogical practices.

The pay range for the position is $50,000-$70,000. Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any discrepancies that may exist do not relate to sex.
