Director of Curriculum and Instruction - NEW ROLE

Aspen Country Day School seeks a full-time Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the 2025-26 academic year. As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Curriculum and Instruction researches current pedagogical trends and implements mission-aligned practices by coordinating with the division heads to ensure a coherent scope and sequence of curriculum and instruction from Preschool to Eighth Grade, along with an effective professional development program. In collaboration with the Head of School and division heads, this position will elevate Aspen Country Day School’s work to build confidence, resilience, and joy in learning through an ideal balance of challenge and nurture, and to ensure students are prepared for the journey ahead.
Responsibilities include:

Investigates current developments in learning theory and pedagogical strategies to discover and adopt effective curricular and instructional practices that are consistent with the school’s mission and vision.

Partners with division heads to recruit strong faculty and promote faculty growth through formal and informal classroom observations, and coaching on a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and assessments.

Oversees faculty and staff professional development, including developing and implementing content for training, sourcing external opportunities, and managing the professional development budget.

Develops and maintains mutually supportive relationships with faculty, and through these positive connections, determines effective means to sustain strong faculty morale.

Designs the school-wide master daily schedule in coordination with the division heads.

Directs year-long Curriculum Reviews as needed and presents results to the community, including the Board of Trustees.

With the Division Heads, reviews and analyzes data.

Facilitates meetings of instructional teams and departments.

Actively participates in the school community, helping to enrich student learning and experiences while also taking on duties to support daily operations.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

The wage rate for this position will include a salary in the range of $90,000-$120,000 with health, dental, disability insurance, retirement plan benefits. Housing available.
