High School Science Teacher  


The Denver Waldorf School (DWS) seeks a qualified candidate to join our faculty as a full-time High School Science Teacher for grades 9th through 12th.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to collaboration, objectivity and consensus-building. Additionally, the candidate should be open, welcoming and engaging to others as well as able to lead by active involvement in the life of the school. 


Knowledge of Waldorf school philosophy and a commitment to anthroposophy is preferred.  


Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science required; advanced degree preferred, particularly Waldorf Teacher Training
  • Experience teaching science
  • Experience teaching adolescents
  • Proficiency in designing effective lessons, teaching diverse learning styles and managing high school-age students
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to teaching a Waldorf curriculum
  • Exceptional communications skills, ability to interact with parents
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment


Salary Range:  $50,000 - $60,000, depending on education and experience

The Denver Waldorf School

The Denver Waldorf School is an urban Waldorf school in the heart of Denver near the Rocky Mountains. Founded in 1974, the school enrolls approximately 310 students in pre-K through Grade 12. The school is an accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS).  The school’s mission is to awaken and inspire students’ critical thinking, emotional intelligence and artistic expression, preparing them to bring relevant contributions to the world.
