Job Overview:
Denver Academy of Torah (DAT), a Modern Orthodox K–12 Jewish day school in Denver, Colorado, is seeking a warm, creative, and collaborative Kindergarten General Studies Teacher to join our dedicated team beginning January 2026. This is a half time position (mornings) for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year, with potential for renewal or expansion in future years.

Job Summary:
The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 5–6. This role involves fostering students’ social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based and structured learning activities. The teacher plans and implements lessons that align with curriculum standards and helps children build foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Teach foundational skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies using age-appropriate methods.
- Assess student progress through observation, portfolios, and informal/formal evaluations.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
- Foster social skills such as cooperation, empathy, and self-regulation.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, specialists, and Jewish Studies staff to support a cohesive dual-curriculum experience.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and developmental milestones.
- Supervise children during classroom, playground, and field trip activities.
- Uphold school policies, safety standards, and ethical practices in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field.
- Valid state teaching license or early childhood certification.
- Proven experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
