Part-Time Administrative Position for the 2025-26 School Year

Telluride Mountain School is seeking a bookkeeper for the 25-26 school year.  Telluride Mountain School is a Preschool thru 8th grade experiential education school.  This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, efficiency-minded and missioned aligned individual to help strengthen and streamline our school’s financial procedures.

The bookkeeper supports daily operations. Working closely with the Finance and Operations Manager, this position works with numerous softwares to maintain the integrity of the School’s financial database.

This position is responsible for:

  • Reliable financial data entry 

  • Manage Accounts Payable including but not limited to purchasing and vendor contracts

  • Manage Accounts Receivable including but not limited to tuition tracking, payment plans and liaise with families regarding billing questions

  • Enter journal entries and manage interfaces between numerous other software systems; Tuition Management software, payroll software, payment processing softwares, etc.

  • Reconciliation of all Bank and Credit card accounts

  • A time commitment of 8-10 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a deep understanding of debits and credits

  • 3-5 years of experience in doing data entry and/or bookkeeping (school or nonprofit setting preferred)

  • Proficiency in Quickbooks and school databases (e.g. Blackbaud) strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication, discretion and organizational skills

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $40-$55/hr depending on experience

  • This position is not required to be in-person
