After School Program Manager

August 11, 2025 - June 5, 2026

Aspen Academy has an amazing opportunity for a 20-hour/week after school program lead for the 25-26 School Year.  If you thrive working with different age groups, planning and pivoting to meet the needs of various learners, and collaborating with a talented team, we want to meet you.

This position provides and oversees before and after school care and programming for up to 45 students, ages 5-11. Start date is mid-August for training.  Regular schedule starts August 20, 2025 through June 5, 2026.

Hours: Regular Reporting Hours - Mon - Fri, 2pm - 6pm, plus one Friday / month 10:30am-5pm

Time in the After School Program is structured with an after-school snack, engaging and intentional programming, and playtime either outside or inside.  Time in the Before School Program includes providing breakfast and calm morning activity.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Grow and Lead a level of excellence in Aspen Academy’s Licensed Program on the K-8 Campus.

  • Supervise extended care program and staff, enrollment, budget, profitability, parent and child communications, newsletters, etc.

  • Create and coordinate staff schedule.

  • Keep attendance sheets accurate.

  • Plan and implement appropriate games and activities.

  • Develop and maintain a well-managed classroom where 100% of the students are engaged, challenged, and supported.  Classroom policies should be consistent with school policies.

  • Create the snack menu and purchase the items needed in accordance with Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) and Education, as well as Arapahoe Health Department Rules and Regulations

  • Maintain clean, neat and presentable classrooms and play areas. Clean up and lock Extended Care areas at the end of each day according to closing procedures.

  • Keep Licensed Director and Director of Programs notified of problems and concerns occurring during extended care.

  • Attend annual health and safety training classes. 

  • Assist Licensed Director with student registrations, schedules, files and billing.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence and compliance to all license and health and safety regulations governing programs; Keep up to date and well informed with all CDEC policy changes and regulations; In coordination with the Licensed and Strategic Programs Manager, communicate with Extended Care Team Members regarding all CDEC policy changes and regulations.

Qualifications:  

  • Required: 1-2+ years’ experience working in licensed programs.

  • Required: PDIS Level 3 or higher.

  • Preferred: 1-2+ years demonstrated experience leading and managing staff and a childcare program.

  • Preferred: Early Childhood Director qualified.  

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or some college level coursework, preferably in education, child development, etc.

  • Preferred: CPR, First Aid Training.

  • Minimum: high energy, passion for teaching great kids.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to use diplomacy and tact with all constituents.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Grant permission for a background check.
