Montessori School of Denver (MSD), located in beautiful Colorado, is seeking a part-time Middle School Math Support position for the 2025-2026 school year. This position requires close collaboration with our lead math teacher to deliver instruction based on our established math curriculum. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with adolescents, possess a collaborative attitude, and be committed to providing differentiated instruction to enhance student learning through co-teaching and small-group instruction. The position is set to begin in August 2025.
Job Overview: Our Middle School math program is based on the Waski Math framework from the Math Institute, which combines Montessori philosophy with a concept-driven approach to math. Explicitly designed for adolescents, the curriculum emphasizes deep understanding, mathematical reasoning, and a logical progression of ideas. Middle School math bridges the hands-on, concrete learning of elementary years and the abstract thinking required in high school math. Our mixed-level classes (for 6th-8th grade students) are intentionally designed to allow students to engage with concepts at varying levels of depth and readiness, promoting peer learning and flexible thinking.
This specific position will support the lead math teacher by helping students complete follow up work, answer questions, and occasionally deliver lessons as requested by the lead teacher. The Math Support role will also collaborate with the lead math teacher to design group projects throughout the year, maintain the classroom environment, check work, and overall enhance the math experience for all students.
MSD teachers promote classroom community, deliver Montessori lessons, create and sustain a beautiful classroom environment, support the individual and collective needs of the students, communicate and partner effectively with parents, and work collaboratively with the other members of the program team and faculty. MSD teachers are expected to actively support the mission and values of the school and contribute to a positive school culture, as well as participate in school events, parent education, and on-going professional development.
About Our School: MSD provides an engaging, empowering, and sound Montessori educational program for students ages 2-14. Our school is accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS), and the American Montessori Society (AMS).[1] Founded in 1964, MSD is the oldest Montessori school in the Denver metro area. In 2015, MSD completed a comprehensive multi-million-dollar expansion plan to complement its existing facilities. A new Arts and Athletics Center, enhanced outdoor learning and play environments, a new Toddler Village, updated Middle School space, a thriving Urban Farm and one of a kind Vertical Farm, and a state-of-the-art Science and Innovation Tower were added to provide an exceptional, experiential, educational environment for all of our students.
