Position Overview
The Logan School for Creative Learning is accepting applications for a Primary level Lead Teacher opening which begins August 1, 2025. This teacher will work with an Associate Teacher and the school’s other educators to provide a Logan educational experience for approximately 15-18 students in a mixed-age classroom that will consist of students in First/Second Grade. Responsibilities include developing an individualized curriculum for each student and leading one overnight trip in the spring.
The ideal candidate will hold an earned college degree and will be an experienced teacher. Candidates should be familiar with the needs of gifted students and have a strong understanding of child-centered education and the value of hands-on learning activities.
Candidates must have the skills necessary to perform the following tasks at a high level of proficiency:

Collaborate with the Director of Primary/LIS and Coordinator of Faculty and Program Development to maintain a classroom in a manner consistent with Logan’s philosophy.

Plan and oversee individual student unit curriculum, including coordinating individual student unit enrichment opportunities with unit trip teachers and other support staff

Plan and implement a multi-disciplinary class unit and other activities that provide students the opportunity to work together and to deeply integrate subject matter

Provide opportunities for exploration, critical thinking, and problem-solving across the curriculum

Monitor the academic progress of students and communicate with parents about their growth

Provide opportunities for student choice

Provide guidance to students in the areas of emotional and social growth

Lead day-long and extended (overnight) field trips with the students

Communicate with other teachers regarding student needs

Participate in faculty meetings

Supervise and support a full-time Associate Teacher

Perform miscellaneous other duties, as assigned by the Head of School
Logan Teachers:

Participate thoughtfully and positively in all meetings and school-wide events
-
Consider various perspectives and appropriate behavior when engaging in internal and external communications and events

Work with the dean and instructional coach to share and solve problems

Attend pre-service and other professional days and school-wide events
-
Attend and complete mandatory trainings, such as those for child safety, first-aid, etc.

Attend all all-staff meetings and the staff retreat
Experience, Abilities & Skills

Bachelor’s Degree

Lifelong learner, flexible thinker

Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail

Experience in teaching or related field (summer camp, etc.)

Computer literacy and comfort using Google Suites

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Valid driver’s license

Willingness and ability to go on overnight field trips with students
Status
This is a full-time (10-month) position during the school year. Salary is paid over 12 months August-July. This position receives full benefits.
Supervisor
The Primary Lead Teacher reports directly to the Director of Primary/LIS.
Compensation
The salary (paid in equal 12-month installments) for this position is $55,000 - $85,000 for a 10-month work period. The salary depends on experience in the teaching field. Hours
The Logan School work day is 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Attendance is required at all-staff meetings until 5:00 PM at least once per week. There will be occasional evening and weekend commitments at which attendance is required.
