Aspen Country Day School is hiring for a Lower School Assistant Teacher for the 2026/2027 Academic
Year. This role is ideal for an aspiring educator looking to hone their craft in a collaborative, and
mission-driven community. This role assists with differentiated instruction,
classroom management, and the daily social-emotional development of students.

Salary
The wage rate for this position will include a salary range of $50,000 - $55,000 and will be
commensurate with experience.
This is a full-time position with health, dental, vision, disability insurance and retirement plan
offerings.
Essential Functions
? Support teaching and planning in the core elementary disciplines
? Execute instructional strategies designed by the homeroom teacher
? Assist with classroom management in concert with the school’s core values and philosophy
? Supervise play areas during break, recess, and lunchtime
? Participate in Outdoor Education trips in fall and spring and ski days in the winter months
? Adhere to guidelines, procedures, and policies in the Employee Handbook
? Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators, which
includes both email and phone communications
? Assist with fall classroom move-in and spring move-out; attend required in-service days,
meetings, and training sessions
? Stay current of school-wide information as provided

Assistant Teachers will have:
? Teaching experience preferred in elementary school
? A love of young children and early childhood education
? Professional desire to develop or continue to develop teaching skills in the academic disciplines
as well as in the on-going work of social/emotional development of children
? Understanding of child development and the importance of stoking curiosity in all learners
? Ability to work in a collegial and highly collaborative environment
? Skill in the use of technology: including, but not limited to Google Workspace, student
information systems, Zoom
? A growth mindset, active sense of humor, warm personality, creative approach, and excellent
organizational and communication skills
? Bachelor’s degree preferred

? Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
