Upper School STEM Teacher (Grades 6–12)
CSS • Full-Time • Reports to Upper School Director
About the Role
CSS is seeking an innovative and passionate educator to join our Upper School faculty as a full-time STEM Teacher for grades 6–12. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, student-centered teacher who thrives on hands-on, project-based learning and wants to play a meaningful role in advancing our STEM program.
The primary focus of this role is technology and engineering — designing and delivering curriculum that challenges students to think like engineers, build real-world solutions, and develop fluency with modern tools and systems. The position also incorporates foundational science and math concepts as they connect to and support the technology/engineering strand. Candidates with industry backgrounds in engineering, technology, or computer science are strongly encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate brings a broad STEM skill set and is energized by the challenge of designing authentic, real-world learning experiences for adolescents. This position reports directly to the Upper School Director and/or Assistant Division Director.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, technology, computer science, or a related STEM field; industry experience in engineering or technology welcomed in lieu of or alongside a teaching background
- Demonstrated ability to design and teach technology and/or engineering curriculum, including hands-on, design-thinking, or maker-based approaches
- Experience teaching middle or high school students (grades 6–12 preferred); familiarity with supporting science and math concepts a plus
- Deep familiarity with 21st-century STEM instruction trends for adolescent learners, including areas such as coding, CAD, robotics, or electronics
- Strong skills in project-based learning, collaboration, communication, and educational technology
- An innovative, growth-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
