Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher (Upper School Math) to join our community for the fall semester of the 2026–27 school year (approximately August 24–November 13, 2026). In this role, the teacher will inspire students’ engagement with mathematics through thoughtful instruction that develops problem-solving, analytical thinking, and quantitative reasoning skills.
The ideal candidate will support students’ academic growth through engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction that fosters curiosity, collaboration, and confidence in mathematics. Working closely with colleagues, the teacher will contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages responsibility, perseverance, and intellectual growth. The teacher will also maintain regular communication with families to support student learning and overall success.
Salary range: $150.00 - $200.00 per day
Position: This is a full-time temporary teaching position and is not eligible for benefits

What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done

Bachelor’s degree in Math education or a related field required; a graduate degree is preferred

Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably at the upper school level

Demonstrated strong classroom management and student engagement skills

Warm, approachable demeanor with a genuine enjoyment of working with upper school students

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of personal responsibility and professionalism

Ability to thoughtfully integrate technology into instruction and communication

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding high ethical and professional standards

Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets)
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Report to and collaborate closely with the Director of Upper School

Teach four sections of Upper School Math:

One section of Precalculus
-
Two sections of Honors Precalculus
-
One section of Honors Calculus
- Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support the mission and daily life of the School
