Montessori School of Denver (MSD) is seeking a dynamic and customer-service oriented Associate Director of Admission for the 2026-2027 school year. The position will begin in July 2026.
Job Overview: The Associate Director of Admission is an important member of the Enrollment Office. This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Management & Tuition Assistance and works in partnership with the Family Onboarding & Transition Manager to recruit and onboard new families in alignment with enrollment goals.
The Associate Director of Admission manages the prospective family admissions process and associated timeline to support a strong enrollment pipeline for the school. This position utilizes customer service, data management, accurate record-keeping, professional communication, and generous hospitality to support all prospective families from inquiry through enrollment contract. This person leads the admission process and sets the tone and vision for attracting, enrolling and retaining a strong, diverse, value-matched school community.
The Associate Director of Admission cultivates and maintains relationships with prospective and current families and partners with senior leadership to ensure the success of Montessori School of Denver. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
About Our School: MSD provides an engaging, empowering, and sound Montessori educational program for students ages 2-14. Our school is accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS), and the American Montessori Society (AMS)[1]. Founded in 1964, MSD is the oldest Montessori school in the Denver metro area. In 2015, MSD completed a comprehensive multi-million-dollar expansion plan to complement its existing facilities. A new Arts and Athletics Center, enhanced outdoor learning and play environments, a new Toddler Village, updated Middle School space, a thriving Urban Farm and one-of-a-kind Vertical Farm, and a state-of-the-art Science and Innovation Tower were added to provide an exceptional, experiential educational environment for all of our students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Admissions & Enrollment
- Together with the Director of Enrollment Management and Tuition Assistance, prepare and follow a recruitment and admission plan that meets new student enrollment goals. Participate in retention efforts to support overall school enrollment goals.
- Manage and execute all aspects of the admission process, which includes managing applicant shadow days, scheduling and hosting parent interviews, efficiently monitoring in-progress admission files, communicating proactively with applicants, securing necessary applicant credentials, and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals.
- Receive and follow up with all inquiries to the school, with the goal of enrollment. Understand and effectively communicate MSD’s unique value proposition.
- Maintain consistent communication with applicant families to ensure applicants remain up to date with admission process action items. Create continuous and proactive communication plans for applicant families that promote enrollment at MSD.
- Present the school to prospective students and families, which includes leading tours, planning and executing admissions events; and providing a hospitable reception for walk-in and phone inquiries.
- Schedule and lead Admissions Committee meetings and ensure the time, equitable review of admission files.
- Collaborate with the Administrative Team and Educational Leadership Team to create a warm handoff of newly enrolled families to the larger MSD community, including assisting with onboarding events, back-to-school communication, and connection to FAM (the Family Association of MSD).
- Maintain new student data and track enrollment changes, in collaboration with the Director of Enrollment Management and Tuition Assistance. Assist with keeping and interpreting relevant statistics on the admissions pipeline.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the admission process and act upon identified areas for improvement.
- Crosstrain members of the Enrollment Team and integrate other lead voices across the school into the admissions process as needed.
- Work with Marketing and Communications to identify and respond to necessary advertising targets, manage website content, and create marketing collateral.
- Process admissions decisions and new student contracts, with associated communication.
- Support the Educational Leadership Team in classroom placement.
General
- Participate in school-wide activities and prioritize events with an enrollment focus.
- Support the school and its leadership as the primary voice of the school to the prospective family population.
- Contribute to the overall life and community of the school wherever and whenever appropriate by working with the children, families, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees.
- Attend Administrative Staff Meetings and ACIS Admission Officers group meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment or Head of School.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Independent school experience preferred; knowledge of Montessori philosophy is a plus
- Knowledge of successful recruitment, enrollment management, and admission best practices; experience in an admissions office preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people (including students, parents, faculty and staff) while maintaining strict confidentiality
- A personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret data for areas of improvement
- Ability to work proficiently with CRM/SIS database systems (knowledge of Finalsite is a plus) and Microsoft Office applications
- An interest in and experience with marketing and communications; ability to collaborate with the Enrollment Management and Ed Teams.

Compensation: Salary Range $70,000-$82,000
