Title: Annual Fund Officer
Reports to: Director of Development
Job Status: Full-Time, 38 hours per week during the school year and 32 hours per week for eight weeks in the summer.
Position Start date: June 2026
Salary: $55,000-$75,000 depending on experience. Competitive benefits package including Health insurance, retirement match, school holidays, summer Fridays, and vacation time.
Summary
The Annual Fund Officer is an integral part of the energetic, fast-paced, and collegial Development Office. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role is responsible for leading and growing Denver Jewish Day School’s Annual Fund through thoughtful strategy, donor cultivation, volunteer engagement, stewardship, and compelling communications.
The Annual Fund Officer will manage a portfolio of Annual Fund donors and prospects who are giving or capable of giving up to $2,500 annually, helping to broaden and deepen the school’s base of support. This person will work closely with the Director of Development and the Development team to create and implement annual fundraising strategies, support the major gifts pipeline, manage the school’s grant writing program, and ensure meaningful donor recognition and stewardship.
Some evening and weekend work for special events is required.
Key Responsibilities
Annual Fund Strategy, Donor Engagement, and Volunteer Leadership

Lead the planning and implementation of the Annual Fund campaign, including strategy, messaging, segmentation, solicitation plans, timeline, and progress tracking.

Manage a portfolio of Annual Fund donors and prospects giving or capable of giving up to $2,500 annually, including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and follow-up.

Develop targeted and personalized engagement plans for parents, alumni parents, alumni, grandparents, friends, and vendors.

Recruit, train, manage, and steward Annual Fund volunteers and partner with lay leaders to expand donor participation and fundraising results.

Oversee and strengthen the Development Committee in partnership with the Director of Development.

Utilize prospect research and campaign data to identify opportunities, monitor progress, and adjust strategies as needed.
Stewardship, Communications, and Data

Help develop and implement a donor relations plan that ensures timely, thoughtful, and consistent stewardship for Annual Fund donors.

Coordinate gift acknowledgments, stewardship reports, pledge reminders, donor recognition, and other follow-up communications.

Work with the Database Manager to maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, pipeline activity, donor lists, reports, and year-end tax receipts in Raiser’s Edge.

Partner with Development and Marketing staff to write and produce compelling Annual Fund appeals, email solicitations, print materials, and other donor communications.
Events and Special Campaigns

Play a key fundraising and lay leadership role in major Development events and initiatives, including the Annual Dinner, Day of Giving, and Chai Five Club Breakfast.

Help develop fundraising strategy, sponsorship and donor outreach, solicitation plans, volunteer leadership, follow-up, and stewardship for these initiatives.

Partner with volunteer leaders and lay leadership to support event-related fundraising goals.

Support tribute journal/ad sales and sponsorship efforts for the Annual Dinner, as applicable.

Liaise closely with the Special Events Manager on event logistics to ensure Development goals and donor engagement priorities are supported.

Work with the Development team on Day of Giving strategy, volunteer/champion engagement, donor lists, messaging, and follow-up.
Grants, Legacy Society, and Major Gifts Support

Manage the school’s grant writing program in partnership with an outside contractor, including project management, deadlines, reporting, and internal coordination.

Support the Director of Development with major gift and leadership-level donor initiatives, including materials, communications, stewardship tracking, and follow-up.

Help identify and engage donors with potential interest in endowment, legacy giving, and the Legacy Society.
Qualifications and Expectations

Appreciation for and ability to clearly articulate the mission of Denver Jewish Day School.

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in non-profit fundraising/development.

Frontline fundraising or donor-facing experience preferred; independent school and/or Jewish communal experience a plus.

Proven ability to manage annual giving campaigns, donor solicitations, volunteer leaders, and fundraising communications.

Excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and presentation communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Strong aptitude for technology; experience with Raiser’s Edge or another development database preferred.

High integrity and commitment to confidentiality, diplomacy, discretion, and professionalism.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, move around campus and event spaces, and occasionally lift or move materials up to 20 pounds.
