Position Summary: By collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and the IB regional office, the coordinator assumes responsibility for the comprehensive implementation of the curriculum, encompassing tasks such as documentation, reporting, analysis, and evaluation within the spirit of the school’s mission statement

IB Coordinator Responsibilities at ISDenver:

Ensure consistency and cohesion in PYP between all ECE and Primary divisions

Comprehensive and coherent PYP curriculum implementation
-
Prepare, plan, and facilitate unit grade-level teacher planning retreats
-
Review and Analyze POI - ensuring K1 - G5 alignment reflecting standards
-
Meets with Assistant Head of School , Division Directors, and Heads of programs to
-
Organize semester reports and timeline
-
Monitor and review ISD curriculum standards and POI cohesion
-
Learning Management System (LMS) - Manage Global Use and Operations including:
-
Training LMS for teachers and parents
-
Monitor (not evaluate) the LMS expectations
-
Manages LMS progress reports and unit reports for K1- G5
-
LMS technical support
-
Communicate with LMS for maintenance of the LMS platform
-
Ensure that the current standards and curriculum are uploaded in the LMS
-
Liaise with IB MYP Coordinator, Faculty Support Director, Division Directors , Assistant Head of School for Academics to develop and ensure continuing professional development that aligns with the wider school strategic plan

Parent Education - communication and workshops
-
Attend grade-level meetings and specialist team meetings
-
Coaches individual teachers to teach transdisciplinary units
-
Model classroom learning experiences and activities relevant to the unit of inquiry to support teachers in creating learning environments that promote the Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Lead Grade level lead meetings monthly to mentor and build relationships
-
Coordinating certification and training for teachers

Onboarding training for new hires

Self-study and Accreditation for IB
-
Participate in IB events, organizations such as: IBARMS

Attend and support new and all faculty orientation.

Commit to professional development outside of the school day that will strengthen observation & coaching skills.

Bachelors or Masters degree or equivalent in education/mental health/appropriate field (required)

Recognized education credentials (ex: CO State License) (preferred)

English proficiency with excellent verbal and written communication skills (required)

Level B2 required, C1+ preferred (based on Common European Framework of References for Languages) or equivalent certification such as TOEFL or IETLS.

Technological and computer competency (Google Suite, database management, etc.)

Ability to work well independently or as part of a team, and provide direction to others when needed

Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills and to exercise sound judgment

Location and Schedule: Expected work hours are 7:45am-3:45pm, M-F; you may have to work outside of these hours periodically. This job does not have remote work flexibility. All employees must be based in Denver, CO.
