Assistant Director of Admission

Position Reports to: Director of Admission 

Position Start date: November 2025

Salary: $55,000-$60,000 depending on experience. Competitive benefits package including Health insurance, retirement plan, discounted tuition, paid time off, professional development support.

Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Admission supports the school’s Pre-K through 12th grade enrollment goals by managing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Admission and ensuring a warm, mission-aligned experience for every prospective family. Reporting directly to the Director of Admission, this individual plays a key role in inquiry-to-enrollment management, parent ambassador leadership, financial aid, and community outreach.

As one of the first points of contact for many families, the Assistant Director embodies the school’s values of hospitality, excellence, and Jewish community. The ideal candidate is personable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about building relationships that reflect the school’s inclusive Jewish values.

Success in this role means ensuring a welcoming, professional, and mission-aligned admissions journey for all prospective families. It requires the Parent Ambassador program to thrive as a key recruitment and onboarding tool. The financial aid process must be managed smoothly, clearly, and accurately. The role must execute admissions events that are polished, well-attended, and effective. Ultimately, the successful candidate will provide data-driven insights to consistently meet annual enrollment and retention goals.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions Process & Family Engagement

  • Serve as the warm, knowledgeable first point of contact for prospective families.

  • Guide families through the entire admissions process (inquiries, tours, assessments, follow-ups).

  • Manage applications, communications, and coordination with faculty/division heads.

  • Maintain accurate records in FACTS SIS and Financial Aid databases.

Parent Ambassador & Community Outreach

  • Assist with the coordination, onboarding, and resourcing of Parent Ambassadors.

  • Coordinate and provide logistical support for admissions events (open houses, tours, shadow days).

  • Represent the school at community events and build partnerships with feeder schools and Jewish organizations.

Financial Aid & Data

  • Execute administrative steps for the financial aid program, ensuring timely file completion and absolute confidentiality.

  • Track applicant data, generate regular reports on enrollment progress, and support retention efforts.

Marketing Support

  • Collaborate on engaging admissions content for web, email, and social media.

  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree (Education, Communications, or Marketing preferred).

  • 2–4 years of experience in admissions, education, or customer service (independent/Jewish day school experience a plus).

  • Familiarity with Jewish values and culture; ability to connect with diverse families.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, welcoming presence.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and admissions CRM platforms.

  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for events.
