Upper School Math Teacher 2024-2025

August 6, 2024 - June 6, 2025

Description

Colorado Academy seeks dynamic candidates for the position of Upper School Math teacher. This is a full-time, 10-month faculty appointment to begin in early August 2024.

Candidates should be eager to engage in developing mathematical habits and practices in their students. A strong candidate will be comfortable creating developmentally appropriate curricula, be willing to explore innovative approaches to teaching, have experience establishing a supportive and engaging classroom environment for students, be willing to differentiate to meet the needs of students, and value collaborative work with and feedback from colleagues, administrators, students, and parents/guardians.

Requirements

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field (a master's degree is preferred). Candidates must have experience teaching a range of high school math courses, including Calculus, statistics, and/or other elective topics. We are always looking to expand our Data Science offerings, so candidates with such experience should highlight this in their materials. Candidates should be enthusiastic about the prospect of working with colleagues to build courses that reflect the future of mathematics and combine with other disciplines.

Candidates should be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued and where openness to growth is the norm. Additionally, candidates will be expected to share in the day-to-day life of the school community, which includes serving as an advisor and organizing and running a one-week Upper School Interim. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Demonstrated intercultural competence, which we define as the ability to understand and bridge diverse perspectives, identities, and lived experiences, is a must.

All teachers at CA are expected to carry out the CA Mission, "Creating Curious, Kind, Courageous, and Adventurous Learners and Leaders," to support the vision of the Upper School, and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom.

This position will remain posted until filled. Applicants, please include a cover letter with your application submission.
