Job Description: Montessori Lead Teacher 

Telluride Mountain School - Telluride, a truly unique independent school nestled in the San Juan mountains serving students Pre-K through 12th, is seeking a Full Time Montessori Lead Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Montessori Lead Teacher will teach, co-teach, and otherwise support students in a Montessori classroom with hands-on materials, an enriching curriculum, and outdoor/experiential educational experiences.

Teaching Duties: 

• Establishing a morning and extended day work cycle

• Collaborating with colleagues

• Fostering relationships with families

• Implement a strong Montessori curriculum for students ages 2.6-6 years of age

• Opportunities to lead or participate in Winter Sports programming

• Collaborate in grade level and department level teams to refine curricular goals

• Maintain consistent student records, as required by TMS

Qualification Requirements:

• Classroom teaching experience preferred

• An undergraduate degree or graduate degree in related fields of Education is preferred

• Candidates must hold a Montessori certification and be committed to upholding the philosophy in a classroom of 16-20 children

• Communication skills and commitment to teamwork are expected

• We expect a commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning, and the growth and development of others on the team 

Compensation: This is an exempt, full time position. Salary in the $56K-65K range based on experience.
