All-School Art Teacher

August 12, 2026 - June 4, 2027

Telluride Mountain School - Telluride, a unique independent school nestled in the San Juan Mountains serving students Pre-School through 8th grade, is seeking a part-time K-8 Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. At Telluride Mountain School, we understand that success is not only measured by grades in the classroom. We challenge our students to explore their environment and seek out meaningful experiences outside--which is why you will often find us on the ski slopes, hiking the San Juans, or exploring the world through our experiential education trips. We also recognize and embrace the importance of developing strong relationships among teachers and peers, and encourage our students to build lasting relationships that strengthen a collective sense of belonging. So while academics are important here, we believe in a holistic approach to education--one that involves fostering creativity, curiosity, and meaningful connections.

The K–8 Art Teacher will teach and inspire students in kindergarten through 8th grade in developing artistic skill, creative confidence, visual literacy, and habits of observation and expression. Through engaging instruction in a variety of media, techniques, and design processes, this teacher will help students grow as imaginative thinkers, skillful makers, and thoughtful communicators, while fostering meaningful connections between art, creativity, and the world around them.
