Aspen Country Day School seeks a creative and energetic Lower School Spanish Teacher, who will teach Kindergarten through Fourth grade  for the 2026/2027 academic year. The ideal candidate fosters a love of language and culture through dynamic, age-appropriate instruction. The ideal candidate brings warmth, creativity, and strong classroom presence while supporting students’ confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish. This PreK-Eighth Grade school is known for its intentional approach to challenging and nurturing children as they build confidence, resilience, and joy in learning. Vibrant academic, arts, and outdoor programs give students a solid foundation for lives of meaning and purpose. At its newly redeveloped campus in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the school welcomes approximately 300 students from throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. It is accredited by the Association of Colorado Independent Schools and a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. 


Salary 

The wage rate for this position will include a salary range of $60,000-$90,000 and will be commensurate with experience. 


This is a full-time position with health, dental, vision, disability insurance and retirement plan offerings. 


Essential Functions 

  • Developing language skills through reading, writing, speaking, and listening, using experiential lessons and projects

  • Fostering students’ enthusiasm for Spanish culture and history, including its impact on Central/South America and other areas of the world

  • Collaborating with faculty colleagues to create enriching cross-curricular and project-based learning opportunities

  • Engaging fully in the school community and building relationships with students by serving as an advisor, participating on outdoor education trips and ski days, and supervising activities


Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience in teaching, 3-5 years and in lower school grades preferred

  • Fluency in Spanish

  • A bachelor’s or graduate degree

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for developing meaningful connections with children, parents, and colleagues

  • Capacity and desire to engage with students in experiential activities and programs, including the school’s landmark outdoor education program

  • Skill, or willingness to develop skills, in the use of technology including Google Workspace for Education and the school’s student information system (Blackbaud) 



Expectations 

This is a full-time position that begins in mid-August 2026. The standard schedule is 7:45am to 3:45pm, with 2 faculty meetings per month until 4:30, although team planning meetings may require additional time. Additionally, all faculty members share daily supervision duties at the school. Occasional evening and weekend commitments are required throughout the school year.
