Job Title: Long-Term Substitute 3rd Grade Teacher
Reports to: Head of Lower School
Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Approximately late February 2026-Early June 2026)
Aspen Country Day School seeks a dedicated and experienced Long-Term Substitute 3rd Grade Teacher to join our Lower School Faculty. The ideal candidate will provide continuity of instruction and care for our third-grade students, maintaining the school’s academic standards and nurturing learning environment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching elementary age students, strong classroom management skills, and a deep understanding of child development. They will work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators.
Salary
The wage rate for this position will include a monthly salary range of $5,500-$7,500 and will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in core subjects.

Maintain a structured classroom environment that supports academic growth and social-emotional development.

Follow established curriculum and lesson plans while incorporating creativity and differentiated instruction as needed.

Assess and monitor student progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records of student performance.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom activities.

Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, learning specialists, and other faculty members to support student success.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as appropriate during the assignment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.

Relevant independent school teaching experience preferred.

Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies for elementary learners.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
