Salary:

The wage rate for this position will include a salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 and will be commensurate with experience.

 

This is a full-time position with health, dental, vision, disability insurance, and retirement plan offerings.

 

Essential Functions:

Sixth through Eighth Grades are part of the Middle School at Aspen Country Day, operating under the leadership of the Middle School division head. Students follow a schedule designed with the unique needs of middle schoolers in mind, creating bonds with dedicated instructors specializing in various subjects.

 

At Aspen Country Day School, Math teachers serve as a curricular bridge between the lower and middle divisions, ensuring seamless progression and alignment of mathematical skills and concepts. Teachers will develop curriculum materials that extend and enrich learning for students requiring additional mathematical challenges. A key component of this role is monitoring and assessing, student learning, growth, and progress through ongoing evaluation and data analysis. The utilization of comprehensive data analysis to inform course design, curriculum development and strategic student placement decisions are vital functions. This teaching role is expected to lead the implementation and management of data collection systems, including IXL.com and the CSU/UC Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an educational background teaching. Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree and a commitment to advancing math curriculum. Social-emotional learning is an integral part of middle school. Teachers serve as advisors to a group of students, building positive relationships with students (and their families) and fostering a sense of belonging through the advisory program curriculum.

 

Learning at Aspen Country Day School is not limited to the classroom. The school’s outdoor education program and interdisciplinary arts curriculum are hallmarks of the student experience. Candidates will be expected to share in the day-to-day life of the Aspen Country Day middle school community.

 

Expectations

 

This is a full-time position that begins mid-August 2025 or mid-August 2026. The standard schedule is 7:45 am to 3:45pm, with a weekly faculty meeting until 4:30, although team planning meetings may require additional time. Additionally, all faculty members share daily supervision duties at the school. Occasional evening and weekend commitments are required throughout the school year.
